Advice with standards, built as a team.
A self-employed route into protection and retirement planning in Germany, through ERGO Pro, alongside Nilesh Kulkarni’s team.
Self-employed via ERGO Pro · no fixed salary
A salary can stop. Life doesn’t.
A second option doesn’t have to mean starting over. Starting part-time is possible, at a pace that fits, with the required qualification.
Who fits
Different starting points, one standard.
The public ERGO Pro pages name four ways in. Each one is a starting point, not a forecast.
Career change
A new direction or a second line of work. ERGO Pro puts personality and commitment ahead of the previous industry.
Part-time start
Starting alongside existing work is possible. How many hours that takes is a question for the first conversation.
Students
Starting during university is possible. Whether it works depends on the timetable.
Industry experience
Knowing the field shifts the starting point. Prior knowledge is not a requirement at ERGO Pro.
What helps
- Genuine interest in people and their questions
- Patience when decisions take time
- Self-organisation without a fixed rota
The work
Understanding comes before any product.
The subjects are protection, retirement provision and health. Every conversation begins with a person’s situation; a solution from the ERGO range follows only where it fits.
The team works to the CapitalPath approach: understand, protect, build, review. The aim is client relationships that last for years rather than one-off sales.
How it works → — Understand first. Then decide.
How the path works
From a first conversation to first clients.
01
Intro call
Questions, expectations and available time. Afterwards it is clear whether a next step makes sense. No obligation.
02
Information meeting
A closer look at the model, the training and the process, together with a supervising business partner.
03
Contract with ERGO Pro
Self-employed work starts with a contract with ERGO Pro. CapitalPath is neither a contracting party nor an employer.
04
Training and qualification
Basic training lays the groundwork. Arranging insurance in Germany also requires the statutory qualification and an entry in the intermediary register.
05
First clients
After basic training, the work of building client relationships begins.
Building a group of partners can come later. It is one possible path, not a requirement.
Support
Only what can be shown.
This list contains only what ERGO Pro describes publicly and what this website already documents.
According to ERGO Pro
- Basic training plus internal, external and online seminars
- Digital tools for learning, client conversations and organisation
- A supervising business partner at the start
- No prior knowledge and no upfront payment needed to start
- Training described as free of charge on the career-changer page

What it is not
Said plainly.
Not employment
Self-employed work through ERGO Pro, with no fixed salary.
No income promise
Results differ from person to person. No amounts appear on this page.
Not an ERGO page
CapitalPath is Nilesh Kulkarni’s personal platform, not a corporate ERGO site.
No shortcut
Client relationships take time, training and patience to build.
How the model works
The model in four lines.
01
Work as a self-employed business partner of ERGO Pro.
02
According to ERGO Pro, income depends on performance and career level. There is no fixed salary.
03
ERGO Pro also describes a share in the results of newly recruited partners as part of the model.
04
Client relationships come first. Building a group of partners is possible, not required.
No income figures, no worked examples.
Business Model Canvas
The business model on one page.
The classic nine-block canvas, as read by CapitalPath. Not an official ERGO chart and not a forecast.
Key partners
ERGO Pro as the contracting partner, products from the ERGO group, and a supervising business partner at the start.
Key activities
Client conversations, needs analysis, recommendations, relationship care, ongoing training and, where it fits, supporting new partners.
Key resources
Time and judgement, training, digital tools and the trust attached to the ERGO brand.
Value proposition
Orientation before products: protection and retirement provision that fit the life situation.
Customer relationships
Personal and long-term, with follow-up when life changes.
Channels
Face-to-face conversations, referrals, local presence and online reach within the rules.
Customer segments
People with protection and retirement questions. Separately: people considering self-employed work.
Cost structure
Own time, learning effort and the running costs of self-employment.
Revenue streams
Performance-based, no fixed salary. Details under “The model”; no amounts on this page.
Orientation, not a commitment on pace or outcome.
Questions
Common questions about the career path
Is this employment or self-employment?
Self-employment. The contract is with ERGO Pro; there is no employment contract and no fixed salary.
Can it start part-time?
ERGO Pro describes a part-time start, including during university. The time it needs is part of the intro call.
Can a part-time start be combined with existing employment?
That depends on the employment contract. Depending on its terms, a side activity may have to be reported to the employer or approved by them. This should be clarified before starting.
Which qualification is needed?
ERGO Pro does not require prior knowledge. Arranging insurance requires the statutory qualification and registration; the details are covered in the intro call.
What does starting cost?
ERGO Pro states that no upfront payment is needed to start and describes the training as free of charge. That says nothing about the later running costs of a self-employed business.
Why are there no income figures?
Results are individual and open. Any figure would claim more than the public information supports.
Next step
A conversation before anything is decided.
The intro call covers questions, expectations and available time. It commits nobody to anything.
